I’m a sixth generation Texan. My distant great grandfathers were O. M. Roberts, early Texas Governor and George Childress, author of the Texas Declaration of Independence. With this pedigree and the heart of an artist, I am a Texas painter. I have art degrees from Eastfield College, Dallas Baptist and Texas Woman’s Universities.
I paint the Texas I know: city skylines, flowers and trees and White Rock Lake near my Dallas home. As a kid, I swam and fished at White Rock; today I find inspiration there at every turn. The old fish hatchery and bathhouse, sunsets, couples, and birds…..joggers, bicyclists, fishermen, and boats…..city lights on the water at night. My Monet’s garden is a place called White Rock, a place I paint again and again. A place surely my famous grandfathers would love as much as I.
✦ Richard’s paintings are priced from $ 200.00 to $ 800.00
